After uncovering the insight that women find printers too ugly to display at home, HP sought to position its wireless printers as cool and fashionable. To showcase the product in an innovative way (even thought the client was not unveiling new technology), Edelman Barcelona conceived a fashion campaign with designs made from recycled printer wires. Unveiled at a gala event that included more than 70 journalists and bloggers, the collection generated coverage on top TV and radio stations, in Spanish lifestyle media and more than 50 leading lifestyle blogs. The designs were then sold at auction to raise funds for the Bip Bip Foundation, a charitable organization focused on closing the digital divide.
Enric Llopart, Senior Account Manager, explains how this tech campaign tackled a two-fold challenge, delivering a clear environmental and philanthropic message for the client.
