Join us at CITIES Restaurant & Lounge for the exclusive opening of a photo exhibit by Alyona Vogelmann and discover for yourself, as she did, a whole world of street scenes of Spain. CITIES eclectic and meticulously crafted menu inspired by a variety of world cuisines, and a delightful cocktail and sparkling wine menu will further transport attendees to exotic and far away destinations, while DJ HAMMOND will add to the environment with a stunning mix of melodies.
“Once I took a brush in my hands, the world would transform into that wonderful, intensely hued reality that I saw while counting colors as a little girl.” Since early childhood, Alyona has been fascinated by seeing multiple colors in the objects even the simplest ones, such as a plain grey wall. Not knowing it, she possessed the same vision as the one impressionists captured in their paintings. Only years later she realized, that their paintings were representation of her colorful world in an absolutely perfect way. “I didn’t have the same skills but I felt that I had the same vision. The same vision as Monet perhaps! I was secretly very proud of it.”
Later on the brush in her hands was replaced by the camera and she learned to see the world through the lens — in color and in black and white. On her trips to Europe, to the places where Impressionism was born she took tons of pictures with her camera, inspired by the divine combination of light, atmosphere, people and landscape of a place she was at the moment.
During her recent trip to Spain in an attempt to capture little glimpse of Spanish culture, Alyona got fascinated by how ordinary moments that go by unseen by many people become captured for eternity with a click of a shutter, as the result is her unique photo collection “Moments in Spain.”
The complete stories behind these photos may remain untold, but you can just imagine them by looking at each of the image… An accordion player in Granada throwing his hands in the air as the final expression of his performance. The elderly couple in Sevilla proudly caring themselves across the town square hand in hand. A little girl in Madrid dressed as a miniature adult holding onto her dad’s hand gazing into the street. Maybe she is counting colors, who knows?
Originally from Russia, Alyona Vogelmann is classically trained artist with a degree in Fine Art and Fashion Design. After immigrating to the United States in 1997, she transferred her artistic skills to the world web design. In 2009 she graduated with a degree in professional photography from Center for Digital Arts at Boston University and now specializes in portraiture, wedding and travel photography in Washington DC metro area.

Hammond began his career unofficially several years ago in South Carolina with DJ Andres Catlla. Proving the South was too small for him, and his appetite for adventure too great, Hammond relocated to Washington DC in March of 2008 to officially become The District’s DJ ‘Ambassador of Fun’. Since moving to the city, he adopted the DJ booth as his new home and spins a variety of house music genres including but not limited to deep, funky, and soulful house.

I used a Sony Handycam…..
My bedside lamp was used sometimes as the lighting rig…..
The film Contains non Actors and Actresses…
It was made whilst i had no job or money.. on my jobseekers benefit budget….
Headphones are advised…Watch this film loud!!!!
This is the fourth part of the Original 33 minute version.
For those who watched a version of the film last halloween….This is very different…
I tried to explain at the time of showing that the film was not finished…It was infact only about half done….
This version contains 6 more scenes and over 400 new tracks of audio…
Due to one of the actresses having illness in her family which has thankfully now gone…more scenes were shot after the initial preview …I also spent a month in my parents garage recording most of the score…
What was heard at the preview was only the basis of the score….now you will hear lots more defined sounds, actual music!!! and scares…
I left the film for six months whilst working on other projects…..and i then returned to it when moving to spain….The break has helped me understand what i really wanted the film to be….For a while i was lost …this was because of it being sick to death of it…Ha Ha ( anyone who has every made a film on there own will understand) Ha…anyway thats my smallest violin in the world part out the way…Here it is…… I also will be releasing the score for download soon…..
The compression quality for this is a bit shit…Hence the 4 parts…… But ill upload it somewhere else soon In a bigger size.

THE MOVING TOWN by Alberto Nacci (trailer)

A picture for images, music and concrete sounds.
Orio al Serio (Bergamo – Italy) International Airport is like a… moving town in which passengers co-exist with space and time in the rare knowledge of living an in-between moment connecting the present and the future!
Sound represents the element which was used to create this piece. Sounds, produced by aircrafts, machinery for transporting luggage, other vehicles in the airport, or the mobile phones of passengers waiting for their flights… become the engine of a music composed by Alberto Nacci using the same tones and rhythms.
This background sound, which is further enriched by the Senegalese percussionist, Dudu Kwatech, represents the soundtrack over which Naccis alto sax sings to describe soft melodic lines which only in the final scene express all the required energy in order to… give flight to an idea: the idea of a reality that adapts and moves to follow the needs, desires, expectations… and dreams of people who are about to reach a different far-off destination where they will be greeted by another… moving town.

What is Vegetarianism?
Some consider it to be a good health diet to some it is ethical and to others it is the purest way to attain spiritual enlightenment. A Vegetarian eating plan also known as plant-based eating is based on a diet of Grain, Fruits, Vegetable, Nuts, and Seeds, this styles of eating has existed since the beginning of recorded history. A Vegetarian movement was found in Rome as early as 600 BCE from the Christian Bible, to Islam Qur’an, to Zoroastrian Avestan, to Buddhism, to the Upanishads, from the ancient writing of Plato to the beliefs of the early Egyptians.
A Vegetarian diet was expounded as the diet of choice for peaceful and healthful existence, both physically and spirally. Ancient, Masters and sages, and the world greatest and most influential scientist, actors, and super athletes all advocate a plant based diet. Vegetarianism is a compassionate ecologically sound and spiritually uplifting lifestyle that respects, the sanctity of all life.
Vegetarianism is the Noble way of living.
The live we want to live are right at the tips of our fingers: It’s not up to the government, your parents, your religious, your friends, your favorites restaurant, your supermarket, to make lifestyle changes critical to good health. It’s up to you Educate yourself. Don’t be a processed person.
