De acuerdo con las citas tradicionales, el Buda Shakyamuni (thub Shakya-pa), también conocido como Buda Gautama (Gau-ta-ma), vivió 566 a 485 aC en el norte de la India central. Fuentes budistas contienen numerosas, diversas cuentas de su vida, con más detalles que aparecen sólo de forma gradual, con el tiempo. Desde la literatura budista primero fue escrito sólo tres siglos después de Buda pasa, es difícil determinar la exactitud de ninguno de los detalles que se encuentran en estas cuentas. Además, sólo porque algunos detalles surgieron en forma escrita más tarde que otros no es una razón suficiente para descartar su validez. Muchos detalles podría haber seguido siendo transmitido en forma oral después de que otros fueron escritos.

It’s difficult to make any one sweeping statement about Madrid architecture. As Spain’s monarchical dynasties shifted from Flanders to Austria to France, so did the principal styles that shaped every period. Madrid was rarely a trendsetter; rather the city tended to absorb foreign influences and adapt them, more often than not, to a somewhat austere Catholic aesthetic.
